Slates can be used not only for floors but also for wall tiles, backsplashes, stepping stones, roofing, and various other USES. Stone slabs are probably the most commonly used natural stone.

Like most other natural stones, SLATE floors need to be sealed to help waterproof, prevent stains and scratches, and sealing materials should be used annually. To see if your SLATE needs to be sealed, pour a little water over the surface.

Grey Slate Tile

SLATE floors, as well as other forms of natural stone, are good materials for heat dissipation. This feature makes the SLATE a good choice for the bathroom if it is well maintained to keep it waterproof. But without radiant heat, the SLATE would be cold beneath your feet.

High-quality SLATE tiles are used as flooring because they are stain-resistant and non-porous. It's also hard to break. All these qualities make the slates suitable for outdoor use. Indeed, a SLATE patio can be very dramatic, adding a sense of beauty to your outdoor space

SLATE floors cut more easily than other floors. If a scratch does occur, you can cover it up with a little mineral oil. A properly sealed SLATE is stain resistant, but if there is a stain, you can apply a stain remover to the SLATE floor, which is available in stores

Culture-stone is concrete cast into a mold and then painted to look like real stone. It was introduced a few decades ago as an alternative to the heavier four-inch-thick natural building stone (before the introduction of natural sawn thin stone finishes).

Natural stone finishes are made from real stone quarried from the earth. Artificial stone finishes, on the other hand, are man-made products designed to resemble natural stones. The product is usually made of concrete and aggregate pressed into molds.
